Pastor Mark Lowrie
(Senior Pastor)

Lowrie

Pastor Mark Lowrie is a Canadian who spent most of his early years in Chatham, Ontario. When he was orphaned at the age of 10, he and two siblings were taken by an aunt and uncle to live in Tennessee. It was through their influence that Mark trusted Christ as Saviour at the age of 13. He prepared for ministry at Tennessee Temple University (BA) and London Baptist Seminary (M Div).

He and the love of his life, Margaret, have been married for 33 years. They have three adult children, all of whom are married to wonderful spouses, in addition to two grandaughters. The Lowries came to South End in 2006 after serving the Lord in Markham, Ontario. Mark's passion is to preach and teach God's Word and joyfully watch as the Holy Spirit changes lives through it. The Lowries also enjoy running, hiking and biking over the many beautiful trails of the Grey-Bruce area.

Pastor Chad Gordon
(Youth Pastor)

Gordon

Pastor Chad Gordon grew up in the country, working with his father in construction and learning to love the outdoors. At the age of five he trusted Christ as his Saviour. Living in a strong Christian home, and attending Collingwood Fellowship Baptist church, he was strongly encouraged to serve Christ wherever the opportunity provided itself.

After enjoying many summers as a camper, Chad served for a number of years on camp staff. He attended Word of Life Bible Institute for two years. Completing this, he interned with Pastor Wayne Heikkinen at Rockmills Baptist Church for one year and then attended Jerusalem University College for a semester. Chad came to work here at South End in 2007, and has a passion to see people grow in their walk with God. Chad was married to Danielle in June 2008, and they serve here together primarily with the youth. They have a baby daughter, Ellie, who is celebrating her first birthday.

deacons

Farmers look forward with excitement to the growing season, with all of its challenges and rewards. It reminds us of this church that we are a part of. It's exciting to see the growth at South End, even though we still see challenges. Pray that the Lord will give us the knowledge and vision to spur on this growth.

South End has a good group of godly men that each bring their own insights to the deacon's table. We are also blessed to have such a great pastoral team, with their excellent teaching, leadership and passion. At our monthly meetings, we continue to work through our book on spiritual leadership. It helps us to learn different qualities required of leaders in the church.

Your deacons’ board is here to serve you. Please let us know if you have any concerns or ideas.
