Life Groups
What's a Life Group?
A Life Group is a community of people committed to one another for the sake of discovering and becoming like Jesus, while inviting others to come and do the same. It's a place where we cultivate healthy relationships and spiritual growth. A life group is a place to know others and be known by them.
To multiply disciples of Jesus in the context of Gospel-centered community and mission to reach the world for Jesus one person at a time.
(Matthew 28:18-20)
As Life Groups gather to eat, pray, worship, read scripture, encourage one another, and serve others, they will grow as disciples of Jesus and discover the joy of taking part in a shared mission.
(Acts 2:42-47).
As Life Groups are intentional about serving neighborhoods, schools, coworkers or other networks, people in Owen Sound will witness a community that lives out the Gospel in tangible ways. This is how we reach the world for Jesus one person at a time.
(Matthew 5:14-16)
Baptism
What Is Baptism?
Baptism is our first step in following Jesus. We believe the Bible teaches that those who have responded to the message of the gospel, repented, and confessed Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior will be baptized by immersion as an act of obedience as a disciple of Jesus. In the book of Acts, baptism was an immediate response for those who accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Baptism by immersion is a picture of death and resurrection for one’s old life to a new life following Jesus.
“Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.” — Romans 6:4-6
We regularly offer a Baptism class where you can have your questions answered and find out how to prepare for your own baptism day!

Parent Commissioning & Child Dedication
Why Parent Commissioning?
Parent Commissioning & Child Dedication represents a commitment on your part to raise your kids up "in the training and instruction of the Lord" (Eph. 6:4), and a commitment on the part of Southend Church to support you in that effort! There are two steps in the Parent Commissioning & Child Dedication process: 1) Orientation and 2) Commissioning.
In our Orientation, we will discuss God’s design for parenting and how we plan to support you and partner with you in discipling your children. The actual Commissioning & Dedication will take place in a Sunday service and will include our church family praying over you and sending you to take the gospel to your home.
